Executive Position Evolved to Provide Best-in-Class Technology Services for Customers
CHICAGO – December 14, 2022 — Nitel, a leading network-as-a-service provider, announced today the appointment of Robert Gianquinto as Senior Vice President of Supply Chain and Pricing. Gianquinto brings over 25 years of global management experience in the telecommunications and networking industry to the position with having spent much of that time leading pricing and supply chain efforts for such firms as Lumen Technologies, Level 3 Communications, and Global Crossing.
According to Nitel CEO, Margi Shaw, Gianquinto will lead the management of Nitel’s third-party domestic and international suppliers while expanding Nitel’s pricing organization. “As we continue to see significant growth by enabling our customers’ digital transformation strategies, our need for strong leadership in technology procurement is becoming more important. We created this role to ensure that we remain an attractive option for partners in a competitive technology environment while also enhancing our international capabilities. Robert is the perfect person to align with an expanding vendor community and help us move into the next phase of our evolution as a company. He brings a wealth of experience in supply chain and pricing to us, and we are excited to have him join us.”
Gianquinto added, “I am tremendously excited about the opportunities at Nitel to establish this new role as a strategic part of the business. We exist to help our customers and partners be successful. My goal is to ensure that our suppliers are responsive to the needs of our business and our customers while our pricing organization contributes to delivering a world-class customer and partner experience. I am eager to drive these initiatives for Nitel, its channel partners and end customers.” Increasing the International footprint will also be a key focus.
Gianquinto has held roles in operations, finance, supply chain and network planning/deployment. Over the past 18 years he has managed global teams with a focus on supply chain in the United States and internationally. Gianquinto had spent the past 12 years at what is now Lumen Technologies, most recently leading the network planning and access management team for the Asia region. There, he managed a global team of carrier relations directors and managers, pricing analysts, optimization and network engineers. In addition, Gianquinto created and managed a new LATAM access management team. Before that, he was director of carrier relations at Global Crossing, negotiating and pricing network services on the supply chain side. Gianquinto earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Finance from Wagner College in Staten Island, NY.
According to Shaw, this appointment is a continuation of the expansion of Nitel’s leadership that started late last year when Cinven, an international private equity firm, made a significant investment in Nitel. “We continue to carry out our vision with strategic leadership hires,” she said. “Robert is another key hire as we work to improve every aspect of our operations to support our quest for ultimate customer success.”
